Artist Vijay Achrekar was born in Mumbai in 1967 and is recognized as one of the prominent contemporary artists of India. In 1988, he earned his Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the prestigious L.S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai, graduating as a Gold Medallist.

Vijay Achrekar has developed a distinctive style that blends conventional techniques with subtle modern touches, creating artworks that are smooth, realistic, and visually captivating. Along with realistic works, he also creates striking abstract paintings, capturing relaxed and graceful postures with precision even within dynamic brushwork.
